Lately I often see a common mistake in a photos, where the sun is also present.
The Sun is the brightest object in the sky and as such it should be represented in the photos, so it may be a little overexposed.
If we overdo it with the slider for highlights in the processing software (highlights) and reduce it too much, we can create “the hole ” in photography.
This is how the sun is supposed to look like on the photo:
And this is the result, If we overdo it by lowering the highlights to much:
…and we create “the hole” instead, of the sun.
The same result can also occur by combining multiple photos in the so called HDR, where the program underexposes the sun to much.
